ACTIVE HAIR CARE: KEY INGREDIENTS

Overview   |   Key Ingredients   |   FAQ

BIOTIN Biotin is a member of the B-vitamin family and a major component in the natural hair manufacturing process -- it is essential to not only grow new hair, but it also plays a major role in the overall health of skin and nails. The beneficial effects of biotin on hair maybe linked to its ability to improve the metabolism of scalp oils. Biotin, when absorbed by the scalp, may promote hair growth and it is able to penetrate the hair shaft making it expand which actually thickens the hair cuticle.

Biotin is used in cell growth, the production of fatty acids, metabolism of fats and amino acids. It plays a role in the Krebs Cycle, which is the process in which energy is released from food. Biotin is so important to hair health, that many dermatologists prescribe biotin supplements to their patients as part of their medical treatment for hair loss. Biotin is commonly recommended by dermatologists as a supplement to patients as part of their medical treatment for hair loss and to help strengthen hair.

COPPER PEPTIDES Dr. Loren Pickart, a leading authority in Copper Peptide technology, describes it as being like a protein injection to the scalp. Copper Peptides have two main properties: (1) potent tissue protective anti-inflammatory agents that limit oxidative damage after tissue injury, and (2) tissue remodeling activation agents, that is, the processes for removal of damaged protein and scar tissue and their replacement by normal tissue. Studies at numerous universities and research institutes have found copper-peptides to improve hair transplant success, increase hair follicle size, stimulate hair growth and reduce hair loss.

Scientists at the University of San Francisco Wound Center discoveredthe effects of Copper Peptides as a side effect to their study. A significant stimulation of the follicular cells occurred when Copper Peptide was applied to severe wound areas on patients. Not only did the wounds heal about 30 percent faster with Copper Peptides, but as a side effect, these tripeptide complexes actually grew hair around the wound area.

As a follow-up study, Copper Peptide complex was given to a female patient who had suffered roughly 90 percent alopecia (hair loss) for years. After about six months of use, she had recovered almost 100 percent of her hair.

KOPEXIL Used in AGENT only. Kopexil is same ingredient developed by L’Oreal and marketed under the name Aminexil SP94. L’Oreal’sresearch indicated that one of the reasons for hair loss is due to the stiffening of the hair roots. Kopexil (Aminexil SP94) helps prevent the stiffening and premature aging of the hair roots.

NANOSPHERE ENCAPSULATED MINOXIDIL (5%) Used in AGENT only. The most effective topical hair growth promoting ingredient available. Nanosphere encapsulation delivers this key ingredient much closer to the root when compared to standard minoxidil.

PROCAPIL Helps slow the aging effects of hair by lessening DHT production, thus improving irrigation of the hair follicle and stimulating the production of anchoring molecules. Procapil targets the main causes of alopecia (poor scalp micro-circulation), follicle aging and follicle atrophy caused by dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

SAW PALMETTO A topical herb used to improve skin and scalp conditions. Studies have shown that to be an effective anti-androgen. Saw Palmetto lowers DHT levels by inhibiting 5 alpha-reductase and receptor sites on cell membranes required for cells to absorb DHT.

ZINC SULFATE An essential mineral thats inhibits production of DHT,Zinc Sulfate is also effective in treating skin and scalp irritationsincluding mild dandruff.
